Emory Area

Neighborhoods:  

Clairmont Heights - A close-in neighborhood of 1950-1960's brick ranches with large manicured lawns and stately trees, located approximately 2-3 miles from Emory University Campus and Medical Facility, and a short walk to shopping & restaurants.  It is a stable community with excellent schools and reasonably priced homes.

Emory Estates - 1920's-1940's brick bungalows & tudor-style homes within walking distance to Emory - also located in Historic Druid Hills.

Emory Grove   - If You are an older house fan, this is the neighborhood for you!    The area is comprised of 1940's bungalow and cape-style homes located in the Historic District of Druid Hills within walking distance to Emory University and Medical Center, the CDC, Eggleston Children's Hospital and the American Red Cross.  You can stroll to the corner for groceries or walk to the YMCA.  There are 3 parks within Emory Grove itself, and the larger Lullwater Park is close by.

Durand Mill - Newer Mini-Estates with lots of square footage with community swimming pool located within walking distance to Emory

Medlock - Close-in starter neighborhood with smaller bungalows and one-level homes located less than 2 miles from Emory.

City of Decatur      

City of Decatur  - Decatur combines the ambience of a small town and all the benefits of living in a major metropolitan area.  Over the past decade, Decatur has added more than 500 new mid-rise residential units in the downtown district and more than 30,000 square feet of street-level retail.  Downtown Decatur is surrounded by beautiful historic neighborhoods reflecting a variety of architectural styles.  The tree-lined streets, strong sense of community and nationally recognized public school system continue to draw young families to the city.
