Emory Village - Surrounding Neighborhoods
Emory Village is always teeming with students and faculty enjoying outdoor dining and the convenience to Emory Campus. The surrounding Druid Hills area encompasses a variety of architectural designs, many early 1900's, as well as newer homes on smaller lots. Emory faculty find the convenience of walking to work irresistable and have bought homes in these quiet neighbohoods with winding streets, lush landscaping and beautiful older homes. Smaller, mostly renovated, bungalow homes can also be found in this area. Homeowners are a cross-section of folks who have found this part of Atlanta an inviting place to live, raise families and to retire.
A number of neighborhood parks exist in the area, which are fully utilized by homeowners for "pot luck", children's parties, etc. A lovely walking park can be found near Emory Campus near the President's home.
Shopping is convenient with numerous restaurants, grocery stores and shops less than a mile away. Major shopping centers, expressways and the airport are all within east distance from the area. The local YMCA is within walking distance as well.
